Gong Bath & Qigong for Summer

Event Details

Gong Bath and Qigong for Summer

Come and try a short Qigong Flow practice for Summer with Helen followed by a relaxing and meditative hour-long Gong Bath from Paul.

Qigong flow is a gentle moving meditation alternating between stillness and movement.  We cultivate our energy, Qi, through awareness of our own body. We will practice flows connected to the Heart and balancing the Fire associated with Summer.

Then absorb the bubbles of gong sound leading you and your body to wherever they need to go on this day. Experiencing the grounding tone of the Earth gong, the vitality of the planet Mars, the temple-bell geometry of the Flower of Life and the ancient sounds created by the bronze gong. All connected in flow by the deep resonances of Symphonic, Wind and Chau gongs.

Gong baths bring many people a sense of deep relaxation, serenity, rest, and recovery through a form of meditation using deep vibrations and sound. The gong sound stimulates the vagus nerve, which plays a crucial part in regulating our stress responses and in turn can affect our immune system. This deep, meditative relaxation state can help to clear negative energies and emotions, improve sleep, improve motivation and vitality. All contributing towards an improved sense of wellbeing.

Facilitators: Paul and Helen Gunnell

Duration: 2 hours

Investment: £22

Short biography of teachers

Paul is a registered Gong Practitioner with the College of Sound Healing having qualified in 2023. His interest in gong sound and psycho-acoustic meditation stems from his academic studies in both Forensic and Wellbeing Psychology in identifying the need for a grounded and personally resonating form of relaxation and recalibration. Paul finds being able to create some ‘down-time’ from the stresses of modern life for those in the held-space with the gongs personally very rewarding.

Helen is an Associate Qigong teacher with Yoqi™ and aims to achieve Certified status during 2024.  She is also a yoga teacher, concentrating on the benefits of yin yoga and relaxation which she also combines with Reiki. Helen guides the breathwork and relaxation as well as assisting with the gong bath.

** Please be aware Gong Sound is not recommended for those who are pregnant, have suffered serious head trauma, had major surgery recently, have a pacemaker fitted or have severe tinnitus. If in doubt, please contact us via Yoga Life Studio and we can discuss **
