Soul Midwifery talk – Tender Loving Care at end of life – the sacred work of a Soul Midwife
My name is Brenda Bruzon and I trained as a Soul Midwife four years ago. Just like birthing
midwives, Soul Midwives have existed all over the world for thousands of years. We see
dying as a natural part of our life cycle and honour this time as a sacred and important
transition. Soul Midwives are passionate about providing TLC for the dying and their
families. We have a person-centred approach, offering non-medical, gently therapeutic
physical, emotional and spiritual support to provide more ease at this important and
cherished time. The desire to take away the fear around the dying process is integral to our
work.
During my talk I will explain a bit about the history of Soul Midwives, and our award-winning
founder, Felicity Warner. I’ll share some insight into how we see the dying process and give
you one of my top tips. I will tell you about my own journey into this sacred work, which
actually started with yoga at the Yoga Life Studio! And how my training has enabled me to
more confidently provide end of life support for my family, friends and community.
