Our fun filled yoga teaching programme goes beyond the physical postures by exploring the emotional and spiritual aspects of the traditional ancient teachings. Led by highly regarded teacher Wenche Beard, the course allows you to learn from one of the country’s leading instructors and develop your passion for yoga in a safe and nurturing environment.  Using her unique style, Wenche retains the authenticity of this classic discipline yet relates it to the demands of our modern world.

This 300 hour, nationally recognised, industry standard qualification is accredited by Active IQ and gives you the freedom to work in any UK health club or studio, or to establish your own yoga studio.  Upon completion, you
will be eligible to take out insurance with bodies such as International Institute of Complementary Therapists (IICT) and join the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) at Level 3.

What will I study?

The course consists of a range of units including; underpinning principles of teaching yoga; anatomy and physiology for yoga, planning a series of yoga sessions; health and safety for yoga; teaching a yoga session; first aid for yoga – additional qualification.

How will I be assessed?

A range of methods will be used including; Practical assessment and observation, worksheets, portfolio of evidence and reflective journal, and a multiple choice test.

How long is the course?

The course is delivered on the last Saturday of every month for eleven months, with an additional seven-day retreat in Egypt towards the end of the course.

Our next course starts in January 2014 at the Yoga Life Studio in Eastbourne.

Are there any entry requirements?

There are no specific entry requirements however learners should be aged 16+ and have a suggested minimum of two years experience of participating in yoga classes.  The course involves an element of physical exertion, therefore a degree of physical fitness is necessary.  All learners should attend an information day and informal interview where their suitability for the course will be assessed.

What are the costs?

The total cost of the course, including all course materials and the seven-day retreat (including flights, accommodation, and all meals) is £2295. A deposit of £350 is required to secure a place and personalised payment plans are available.
