Namaste x
Winter is the time of year that is most Yin-like, it’s the time for doing less, finding stillness and going inward.
Join Mel and indulge in this yummy 2 hours of Yin practice to restore your overall energy, replenish the internal organ health and nourish your joints/fascia/bones/ligaments. This is an opportunity to rejuvenate and take time out for yourself to just “be”.
Water – is the most Yin of all elements. We will be diving deep in to water elements of our body – Kidney and Urinary bladder –
Yin is a slow, simple, and quiet practice with opportunity to cultivate awareness and mindfulness with a hint of restorative and meditative quality. The practice targets the deep connective tissues, bones, joints, fascia and ligaments in the body. It also focuses on stretching and stimulating different acupressure points from TCM. We will hold the poses passively from 4 minutes to work the fascia (connective tissues) which may have become tight over time. Movement and stretching hydrates fascia and literally help slow the aging process.
Yin yoga is suitable for almost all levels of students. Yin has a restorative quality, but it is not restorative yoga. Like all yoga practices, if the tissues you are targeting for exercise are damaged in some way, please take a rest or check with your health professional if yin is appropriate for you.
What You’ll Get:
– A nourishing yin yoga practice you can recreate at home
